Hua Hin has one of the lowest rain falls in Thailand and being a coastal town gets that lovely sea breeze, so Hua Hin can be visited all year round. Hua Hin possesses a tropical climate with a rather high degree of humidity. There are three seasons, the dry season (March-September), the rainy season (October - November) and the warm season (November-February). Hua Hin has one of the lowest rainfalls of any beach area. Weather is hot but refreshed by a cooling sea breeze. Most days offer clear blue skies and sometimes billowing white clouds. Hua Hin was chosen as the Royal resort due to the excellent weather and climate.
Among the most important sights to visit is Klai Kang Won Palace, a royal summer residence built by King Rama VII. The major nightlife attraction which is very popular with both Thai and foreign tourists is the night market. A wide choice of cuisines naturally with many fine Thai restaurants and Seafood restaurants.

Dining & Drinking in Hua Hin and Cha-Am

There are numerous seafood restaurants in both Cha-am and Hua Hin, in addition to several food stalls at the Hua Hin Night Bazaar. But if you like to eat on a higher level of service and quality, you can find world class restaurants of any kind of food in the big hotels and the best of all: the prices are very reasonable and compared with what you get, in my opinion the better deal than the overpriced beach restaurants.
So find here some advised restaurants, which we visit regularly.

Hua Hin has night markets, stylish shops and boutiques. There are many old style and art shops close to the fishing piers, art and crafts shops.
The main beach area fronts the town itself where many fine hotels and resorts are found. Beaches to the north and south of Hua Hin also have hotels and resorts. The beaches at Khao Takiab and Takiab Bay are just to the south of the town centre. Hua Hin hotels stretch along the coast both north and south of Hua Hin. Hua Hin Hotels offer many choices of beachfront locations.
For out door fun and adventure you can enjoy water sports, Elephant rides, All terrain Vehicle rides, fishing and boat trips. Khao Takiab Bay is a popular beaches on Hua Hin with clear clean water and gentle waves, beach loungers and beach umbrellas for shade. Palm trees and Casuarinas trees line the long beach at Takiab Bay. These beach areas are also popular for jogging and beach cycling. Hua Hin hotels include luxury hotels and resorts plus boutique Hua Hin hotels and guesthouses. The area also offers the opportunity to visit the temples of Khao Takiab, feed the monkeys, climb to the viewpoint. The Khao Takiab area has many temples includes many built many years ago. Snorkeling is available a few hours south of Hua Hin. The River Kwai is just 3 hours from Hua Hin. Hua Hin National Park at Sam Roi Yot just 30 minutes south of town.

Cha-am

Once a low-key fishing and market village, Cha-am has grown in popularity, particularly with local Thais who yearn for a weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Cha-am is mainly know for its fresh seafood, and eating and drinking in a relaxing seaside environment is the main draw for the locals. The local fare can be enjoyed at both open-air eateries with umbrella-shaded tables out on the beach, and more traditional restaurants near the north end of the beach or cantilevered out over the water on stilts at the edge of the harbor. The beaches are quite nice; though not picture postcard-perfect tropical paradises per se, they are not crowded and fairly clean, with warm gentle waters perfect for swimming. There are a variety of wandering vendors selling silk and cotton fabric, scarves and hand-carved wooden statues, in addition to horses for hire.

Golf in Hua Hin

Introduction

Hua Hin is situated on the Gulf of Thailand, 120 miles to the south of Bangkok and has long been a popular destination for holidaymakers from Thailand, itself, as well as those from abroad. Indeed, Hua Hin has a strong royal connection, having first been used by King Rama VII, in the Twenties, as a refuge from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Hua Hin, today, is still a working fishing port, but includes all the amenities that you would expect in a modern holiday resort. The good news for golfers is that, despite containing the highest density of championship golf courses in Thailand – there are, in fact, eight within 30 minutes' drive of Hua Hin town, itself – the Hua Hin region remains largely undiscovered as a golfing destination. Green fees between ฿1,200 and ฿2,500 bear testament to this fact, but facilities, maintenance, etc., are, nonetheless, of the highest order.

Hua Hin Golf Courses & Accommodation

Just 25 minutes for Hua Hin town, the Imperial Lake View Hotel & Golf Club represents something of a novel concept, insofar as it effectively combines four different 9-hole courses, each with its own distinct characteristics, in a single facility. Players can choose the undulating landscape of the "Mountain" course, which affords spectacular views over surrounding mountains, the refreshing, yet challenging, "Lakes" course, the arid "Desert" course, complete with cacti and rocks, or the windy "Links" course, to test their mettle. Facilities also include a driving range, practice area, a swimming pool with Jacuzzi and tennis and squash courts.

Also just 25 minutes from Hua Hin town, but this time directly inland, Majestic Creek Golf Club offers a 6,961-yard, 18-hole course, situated against the backdrop of the foothills of the mountains that form the western border between Thailand and Myanmar. Water is very much a feature, with numerous streams running across the course, so even low handicap golfers are presented with quite a challenge. Facilities, once again, include a driving range, chipping and putting greens and electric golf carts are available for hire.

Accommodation in and around, Hua Hin is plentiful and varied, with visitors offered a choice of guest houses, hotels and self-catering accommodation. Many guest houses and hotels are contemporary in style, with traditional Thai touches, so you can expect air conditioning, TV, free Internet access and free use of a swimming pool in many cases. Self-catering villas are constructed and furnished to a similarly high standard and typically offer spacious, comfortable guest rooms, again with all modern amenities.

If you are flexible with regard to travelling, you may be able to take advantage of one of many late deals available to Hua Hin. At the time of writing, for example, one well-known operator is offering 7 nights` accommodation, on a bed and breakfast basis, in a five-star hotel just 15 minutes away from Hua Hin Airport, plus return flights from London Heathrow, for less than £700 per person.

Pran Buri

Pran Buri is some 30 kilometres south of Hua Hin. There are several beach resorts in peaceful atmosphere. The Pran Buri Forest Park occupies a large area with a 1-kilometre pine-fringed beach and mangrove nature trails. On the Pak Nam Pra beach there are many new, nice accommodations (mainly boutique hotels with spa)

Ban Krood

Ban Krut's natural beauty and its uninterrupted coastline are a rarity these days; enjoy while they last Ban Krut, the last virgin beach strip in Prachuab Khiri Khan, it seems has been spared a life line after the government shelved its controversial plan to build a coal-fired power plant there. For the time being, Ban Krut's sandy beaches still stretch as far as you can see. There are no high-rises to obstruct view except the lanky stems of coconut trees rising to meet the skyline - which is how Thailand's other beaches used to be until they were undone by change spawned by tourist dollars and began growing in all manners and directions to become the mess they are today. A case in point is Ko Chang off the Trat mainland.
